Star Trek Skin

Well here we have a treat for any Star Trek fans out there that like to play JK2! Ben Aerens here brings us quite an impressive reskin of one of the default Jedi models designed to look like he is wearing the ‘Next Generation’ version of uniform. Now, I do like Star trek, but I am no ‘Trekkie’, I am a Star Wars man! Therefore I ‘m not really sure what the different colours of uniforms imply, though I am guessing the colour varies depending on what part of the starship you work in (engineering, sick bay etc.) although I could be completely wrong about that! :P

What I do know is that this skin must be meant to represent someone of captain rank, due to the four round pins on his collar.

Now, how accurate is this skin? Well I would say it’s very accurate indeed (except for the boots, which are not knee high in the TV show). The ‘Next Generation’ style uniforms are pretty simple in their design, and I think the uniform on this skin looks very similar indeed to how it looks in the TV series. Personally I think this skin probably looks most like William Riker, what with the beard and all. The skin includes team support, with both the red and blue versions (the default being yellow) looking like their TV show counterparts.

As for things that could be improved upon, one thing I would like to see improved is the sounds. The skin does include new sounds, but I think it would sound cooler if some sounds or taunts were included from the TV show itself perhaps.

[b]***NOTE***The main thing that needs fixing however is a rather annoying bug. The problem I found is that whenever I use the ‘add bot’ option to try and add this character into an FFA game, JK2 just crashed. I have no idea what is causing this, but it is definitely something that needs looking into.[/b]

All in all though, to use as a player skin this is pretty good, and I am sure fans of Star Trek will enjoy it.
