Description
This is another entry for the January 2007 [url=http://www.map-craft.com]Map-Craft[/url] contest (rules are in the read-me, if you\'re curious). In accordance with the contest rules, this map consists of one room (although it\'s a rather [i]large[/i] single room). This might be a disappointment to some who were looking for a castle map that you could actually enter, but rules are rules.

As you may have guessed from the file name, this map has a tribal aspect to it. Think tribal tattoos... but \"tatooed\" onto walls and pillars. These tribal designed are displayed brightly across the map, as well as on jump pads which will launch you to the four corners of the map. Be careful, though. If you don\'t land precisely where the jump pad is sending you, you\'ll be gifted with fall damage. So don\'t be moving around in mid air if you want to conserve your health.

The map itself is well constructed. It\'s got enough visual flair to keep you interested (just look at that castle!) and enough pickups to make for a decent round of guns. In addition, there seem to be quite a few good places to hide behind, so it wouldn\'t just be a straightforward fight. Open enough for a duel, but with enough room for a mid-sized free-for-all. The one thing that really bothered me about this map was the tribal designs I mentioned earlier. They\'d be fine, except the glow is very pixely around the edges. Noticibly so, which is a bummer. Also, one of the columns seemed to not all bet here (see the screenshots). Not sure why a chunk was missing, but a floating pillar doesn\'t quite seem to fit. Overall, though, a strong and sturdy map with a style all its own, and technique to back it up. Certainly not a map that should be quickly passed over.
