Matrix Shield

Well, this is an interesting one. I don't think I need to point out what it is, since that should be obvious, so I'll just assess it.

The code effect looks kinda dodgy and distorted, even when it's inanimate, most likely because it's a flat texture curved onto a round bubble. Jedi Academy's source coding doesn't allow for scrolling on the shield effect, and that adds to the freakiness factor. The pulsating effect which comes standard with shields is still here, naturally, and that (combined with the other aspects) makes the whole thing seem like looking at a Matrix screensaver after doing mushrooms or something. Er, not that I advise trying that sort of thing. >_>

The idea doesn't really work out as well in practice as it does on paper, mostly due to the engine's limitations. Still, it's an interesting, if not weird, effect. It looks pretty good from a distance, but once you get up close the illusion is shattered.

You guys know the drill. Feel like something new? Give it a download. It's certainly unique. Just be sure that you have no other shield effect pk3s in your base folder when using this, otherwise there will be clashes.
