Description
This model is meant to be a sword with flames all around it. It succeeds, at its most basic level. The sword itself is quite decent. There\'s far more detail than necessary in the hilt area, with a disappointing lack of texture detail, but otherwise it\'s a very promising model, and the texturing of the blade frankly isn\'t bad at all. The theoretical treat here is the EFX attached to the blade. EFX are something often passed over, especially for a sword, where it\'s not necessarily a common addition. EFX files take a lot practice to understand well, and it\'s rather obvious to me that this particular author hasn\'t worked with too many EFX files in the past. That said, though, I think it\'s great that he bothered working with them at all.

So I\'m sure you want to know about that fire. In SP (yes, this sword has SP support, impressively enough) the fire works \"fine.\" By fine I mean that it looks like fire... but it\'s not perfect, naturally. The life of the effect seems far too long, and as a result when you move you\'ll see an outline of where the fire was. It\'s hard to explain, so try it out in-game and you\'ll see what I mean. This is far worse in MP because for some reason the effect is far less fire-like, and when you move it looks like a string of balls is following you. Once again, try it out to see what I mean.

In case the whole odd-looking fire thing bothers you, a variant with no fire has been included. A couple of sounds are missing, primarily heard in the katas, so that\'s something that should be tested more thoroughly for future mods. Overall a very good attempt, though, and I certainly hope this author will keep on modeling.
