Description
If there's one thing that makes me want to giggle like a schoolgirl, it's always a nice pointed object used for ending a human life =_,=

This particular pack contains quite an awesome selection of the LOTR swords as seen in the movies. Just for fun, I'm going to tackle them individually.

Hadhafang - As with all the models in this pack, this was sleekly crafted, and looks dead onto the sword it was meant to represent. My only concern lies in the blade's appearance. I dun think a specular shader was the best choice here. Definitely could use something more metallic >_>

- Sting (regular Sting and orc-blue Sting): When not doing a concert tour or recording an album, Sting liked to transform into a sword and help a hairy-footed midget kill orcs. This, as with the Hadhafang, looks incredibly accurate, textures simply sublime. The only oddity I noticed will repeat itself in other swords here: the tag to handle it. The blade is held too far from the guard, and thus looks a little awkward. However, both versions of these are awesome to behold, visually, aside from that.

-Legolas' knife - Orlando Bloom's curvy knife looks the most simple of the pack. I can't vouch for accuracy, but it certainly looks like it had LOTR elven roots. However, the knife is still held awkwardly. Also, I would have suggested possibly modding the .sab so it would use the more one handed Tavion stance.

- Generic Elf sword - I never saw this sword in the movie, but holy crap the handle is HUGE. Seriously, it'd make a better Dai-Katana/Polearm more than anything! Whew...well, it still looks supreme, that much is certain. There is both a single and staff version, which I found to be a smart idea. It merits that much. This is one of the few where hand position is relatively good.

- Glamdring: Gandalf the Gray's sword, and probably one of more favorite swords to behold. The handle on this one sorta made me look curiously, as I recall an older Glamdring with a cloth or leather grip. After looking through some pictures, I confirmed it: this grip is way too smooth. Also, although maybe it's just me, but the sword seems a little small. It's more than likely just me, but otherwise it looks pretty beastly. However, there's that whole tag thing >_> again.

Saruman's Staff - Christopher Lee's, or should I say Saruman the White's staff that he used to beat the living crap out of Gandalf and seal his place in mah book as awesome even further. This staff feels a little too geometric, particularly at the top. There's no real rugged feel to this staff, which I would argue is a necessary addition. Design-wise, the author didn't go wrong after that. It's hard to mess up this staff.

Witchking Blade - Aw man the sword was awesome. HOWEVER, this one had the same oddities as Glamdring in terms of size and tag. In fact, the tag was placed in a POORER location than Glamdring's, and now it's like he's holding the blade by the pommel o_O. It was then that I noticed the enormous handle. I don't recall that particular feature, but I can see why he was so eager to keep the tag down where it wouldn't skewer the model's arm.

Sounds for all these weapons were appropriately selected and manipulated. Other than the weird oddities, I did not any other bugs. Winrar, yes?

There you have it. I'd suggest you fix those tags perhaps, and if you plan oncontinuing modelling LOTR swords, get that Nazgul blade under production, or else you will be eaten by kids.

BANDWIDTH NOW.
