Aperture Skins

I have never played either of the Portal games, but to be quite honest after listening to the taunts that these skins have, I just have to play them! But I will come to that later...

I have seen some costumes based on Portal that people have made even though I haven’t played the game, and I would class these skins as portal themed, rather than recreations of the characters costumes from the game. They are orange, though not quite bright enough orange I think, that said orange is my favourite colour, so I like it! Yes, you now know that I have two vices, the colour orange and glowy things, I WANT TO SEE MORE OF THEM PEOPLE! :P

On the back of the skins is also the aperture sciences logo, which rounds the skin off. Personally I think it would be best either to find a skin with plainer clothing or to make the clothing on these skins more plain and flat, as the detailing and piping etc. on the clothes doesn’t really look like what you would expect from a simple orange jumpsuit. That said, I guess you could say that they are what an orange jumpsuit might look like if Portal took place in the Star Wars universe! It would be nice of course to have a custom model, but that is not always possible, and I think given the restrictions that the models and skins used have, the author did a good job of making some Portal themed skins!

Now, onto that taunt... it isn’t to much that the character uses a taunt, more that they suddenly burst out into song! I am presuming that the song must be from Portal somewhere, I presume the voice of GLaDOS? Though I could be wrong as of course I haven’t played the games! Either way, the lyrics are quite hilarious, exactly what you might expect a machine to come up with, and what is more there is a different version for the male and female version of the skins. Yet more hilarious is watching the players mouth flap open and closed constantly while they 'sing' the rather lengthy taunt/song. Pavarotti eat your heart out!

All in all a cool skin here with a nice dash of humour straight from the Portal games, they may not be 'accurate' representations of the orange jumpsuits from the game, but I like them all the same. Keep up the good work Blade!
