Description
The Cardassian station Terok Nor, re-designated by Starfleet as Deep Space 9 has undergone many refits, upgrading nearly all of the on board systems to Starfleet standards.
Starfleet R-D was assigned to design and install the most up-to-date series of upgrades.

During initial tests SFRD found that the up rated shield system put a massive strain on the stations power core, when the shields were run at 100% the drain was so much that the station was depleted of main power after just under three minutes.
SFRD decided after some deliberation that the massive drain could be regulated by strategic and tactical prioritisation of DS9-s available power.

Current systems on board DS9 seem to be within the standards set by SFRD and even though the station is undergoing extensive engineering shake down operations, DS9 has been declared Refit-Complete.

SFRD system engineers have discovered an anomalous algorithm which constantly provides power to the stations engine systems, upon station power up the computer assigns power to each required main system (weapons, sensors, shields) but also to the engines, this puts a drain on the power core under alert conditions. It is advised to all personnel on duty to manually reset this to just 5%.
