Quinlan-Vos Pack

I have to admit that the Clone Wars era Comics by Dark Horse have never really piqued my interest, to be honest I think the whole Republic/Clone Wars has been pretty well covered and I personally prefer the Legacy, Invasion and Knights of the Old Republic era comics as those are eras that are less well covered, especially in graphic media like comics. Still I might get the Republic/Clone Wars and affiliated series\' sometime, as there does look like there are some cool stories in there. If I remember correctly some Rakatan ruins also make a brief appearance at some point, which is a nice tie in with KotOR. Quinlan Vos is one of the more famous and popular characters from this era, apparently he made a fleeting appearance in Episode 1 and was meant to make an appearance in Episode 3 before being cut out.

Savatron brings us a pretty varied pack of skins dedicated to Quinlan Vos. There are short haired Padawan versions, a Jedi Knight version with some cool looking armour, Vos as a Jedi Master with his dreadlocks. Added to that there are different variants with and without robes and team skins to boot! Impressive, most impressive.

There is some really nice texture work here and some great looking shaders on the armoured Jedi Knight skin as well. I was quite impressed with the character icons also, which look very slick!There are new sound files in the .pk3, but for some reason only a few of the skins actually use the new sounds in game in game, which is a shame. In case any more sounds or taunts are needed in future though I believe he has appeared in one of the new Clone Wars series episodes, so that could be a good place to go to grab a couple of sound bites to use for taunts!

I hate to revert to stereotyping, but why do I have this feeling he will sound like a Jamaican dude? xD If anyone here has seen the episode he is in, please post in the comments section what he actually sounds like!

There are still improvements I feel could be made to the skin, the faces are the main issue for me. The skin and hair just has no fine detail in it. I don’t expect to see every pore but I think the skin needs to look a bit rougher; some wrinkles here and there and some more texture would be good. The hair also needs a bit more work as it lacks detail and definition.

Overall though a very nice skin pack here, and well worth a download for fans of the Clone Wars/Republic comics or the character! Keep up the fine work Savatron!
