Halloween is approaching everybody! Maybe I should be Kyle Katarn this year..


Anyways, here we have an elderly version of Kyle Katarn. Instead of just being an ordinary elder, Kyle also happens to be an ''old fool'' too. The name of the skin fits Kyle's future persona if you ask me. After having a padawan like Rosh, I'd turn into an old and miserable fool too. :D

My first impression of this senior citizen was that he seriously needed some [i]Just For Men[/i] to get rid of that gray hair. For all of you who are familiar with Kyle Katarn, we all know he's a ladies' man. He needs to be able to swoon the ladies, but his gray hair is throwing off his game. None of the plays in his book are going to work with that hair color. Nevertheless, there is some woman out there that like a little gray hair. >_>

To be completely serious, one of the first things I noticed about this skin was that from the shoulders down, it was just to basic for me. The author states that he was going for a ''pajama-like technician suit,'' but I just don't see it. Maybe I'm just not thinking ''outside the box?" I don't know. I don't know about everybody else, but It just seems like the author could of been more creative with his design. I'm not trying to say that the author did a bad job, but it looks like he spent little time with this skin. Although, to be more positive, the face and hair were done pretty well. I did enjoy seeing the gray hair effect. After seeing this version of Kyle, I realized that he's never going to look like his father.. in any way, shape, or form. Does anybody else see that happening at [i]all[/i]?

One of my favorite parts about this skin was the custom-made sounds. It's not common to see custom-made (home-made is probably a better term to use) sounds for skins and/or models around JKFiles. I'll give the author credit for taking the time to record the sounds for Kyle. Although, my only gripe is the fact that there is only one sound file for the taunt. I was hoping the author had made more. Oh well, you can't get everything you want! :)

As far as bugs go, I didn't catch any. I wasn't expecting any, seeing that this is just a re-skinning of the default Kyle.

At last, we come to the improvements. My most important concerns relate to the ''basic'' look of Kyle from the shoulders down. If you could spend some more time on his torso, or maybe just add a few features to it, it would make it look [i]much better[/i]. Also, even though the hair looks pretty good, I'd try to touch it up some more and make it blend in with the hair as a whole.

Overall, I believe the author did a pretty decent job on this ''old fool.'' That still makes me laugh! Kudos to the author for giving Kyle that title. Just remember to review my recommendations for improvements if you plan on making a version two of this skin. Keep up the good work! This is definitely worth a download if you want to replace Kyle with something new, since he never changes his clothes.. he's such a bum, gosh.
